    Description

WWII British pilots folding machete, modified, used
This is the British version of the U.S. military’s WWII folding machete included in pilot’s survival kits.  This one is marked Harrison Bros & Howson Cutlers to His Majesty, Sheffield, England, 1945.  This one has been meticulously modified to a fixed blade.  As you can see from the pictures, a solid piece of steel has been inserted behind the haft of the blade to prevent it from rotating, and it was pinned into place with a brass rivet through the handle.  Further, the normal steel pivot pin through the front blade guard has been ground down flush with the handle.  It takes a good eye to see it.  Very solid.  Blade is nicely tarnished and pitted, but sharp!  Interesting piece.  200
