Lovely solid silver mesh chatelaine purse made circa 1890. The mesh is in excellent antique condition. The delicate frame is decorated to both sides with garland of leaves. The silverwork is very good condition antique condition…commensurate with age and use. The hinges and clasp are in perfect working order. It opens and closes with a delicate kiss clasp frame and it has its hanging loop to be attached to a chatelaine. It is marked ‘Weevil’ three times for the silver standard to both sides of the frame. It has 4 little balls fringe…It measures 3” total length with fringe by 2” wide to the frame, it weighs 13 grams.
