ABOUT:
Nice size Victorian silver plate chatelaine dance card / notebook, with beautiful Art Nouveau designs of Edelweiss flowers and leaves on the front and Chrysanthemums on the back.  This motif always makes me think of the Sound of Music, although I acquired this in France.  It could be worn as a pendant, but would also make a good purse item.  The cover is slightly spring loaded, held shut by the pencil and comes open when the pencil is removed. It is decorated ornately on both sides.
Pencil does function but needs a refill on lead.
Lovely, period appropriate Victorian design would make a neat collectible item that can be used on a daily basis - an antique gift for yourself or a friend!
NO MONOGRAMS on the piece.
Chain shown in photos is not included in the listing.  I have an edelweiss slide mirror listed separately if a chatelaine set is desired.

No hallmarks.
CONDITION NOTES:
In estate condition considering age.  The hinge is nice and tight and slides open and closed nicely.  Some faint all over surface scratches from use and polish.  Some stubborn tarnish and wear to the silver-plate where the warmer underlying brass shows.  Definitely an antique patina.  The first few pages have writing in them but several blank pages remaining so still usable.  Pencil needs lead but twist mechanism works.  Some deterioration to the metal as it is over 100 years old.  Like all my estate items -  please note that while the piece is sturdy and has many years of use left, it is not in mint condition.
