Description
A set of twelve figural silver and gilt spoons with import marks for France. Each spoon has been created with different stems and cast terminals. The gilt bowls of the spoons are marked with the Swan control mark (denoting import into France).
The entertaining set includes figures, monuments, and buildings. Most notable among them are Napoleon, Joan of Arc, Notre Dame and a Medici style Lion with sphere. Perfect gift for your favorite Francophile. I acquired the set in Paris while on a buying trip thinking they would be an interesting way to serve coffee or dessert to guests.
French import, circa 1910, most of the spoons are also marked with PB, which is believed to be the maker's mark. I am still researching the mark.
