six antique French steel bladed knives have wooden handles with exquisite silver collars and caps designed in a pattern of leaves. The blades are stamped “

” along with the image of a man’s head. “

” was a line of knives designed by
Rivière
Caburol
, cutlery manufacturer in Thiers in the Auvergne region of France, capital of the French cutlery industry for centuries. The shape of the blades, the color of the handles and the above mentioned collars lend this ensemble all the elegance expected from the famous tradition of French cutlery. These knives shows slight darkening on the blades and some slight wear and tiny cracks in some of the handles, commensurate with their great age and normal use and not affecting the solidity of the pieces.
