    Description

Astract floral beaded soft soles moccasins, of Forest County Potawatomi (Wisconsin) make, they are made of native made smoked brain tan buckskin in a cut and shape very traditional and classic for Wisconsin and Michigan Potawatomi Indians. Dating from a c.1920-30 period, they keep standards from an earlier era and display a nicely done and balanced abstract floral beaded motif on the vamp area, well fitting in the Western Great Lakes tribal art tradition. Beadwork includes some not so common metallic beads and both italian and czech seed glass beads in earth tones. About a size 7, probably women's. Buckskin and beadwork in excellent conditions.
