    Description

Presented is a marvelous set of 12 French silver demitasse spoons made by Joseph Adoue during the 1850s. These spoons are French 1st standard .950 purity silver, which is actually higher than .925 sterling purity. The spoons are heavy for their size and are completely guilt with a rich gold wash. Each handle is done in a twist form with a decorative finial. Each handle is hand engraved with details along the twisting form. The back of each bowl is beautifully engraved with bright-cut leaves.
Each spoon is marked with the French first standard Minerva head mark for .950 purity silver, and a maker’s mark for Joseph Adoue.
This set is in fabulous condition, especially for its age. There are no dents, no breaks, no splits, no monograms, no monogram removals and no repairs.
Each spoon measures 4 ¾ inches long and the combined weight of the set is 190 grams or 6.7 ounces.
